Lukas Nowak

Lukas Nowak, born and raised in Erfurt (Eastern Germany), studied philosophy and sociology at the University of Potsdam and dramaturgy at the Ernst Busch University of Theatre Arts Berlin. During his studies he worked on his first productions as a dramaturge. He was also employed at the Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History in Potsdam and in the online editorial department of the Academy of Arts (AdK). Since the 2022/23 season he is working as the assistant dramaturge for the Berliner Ensemble. 

Most recently he curated a thematic focus on artificial intelligence and co-curated a theme day on the currency of Bertolt Brecht's thinking. He was responsible for the conceptual supervision of various special events. Since the 2023/24 season he has been in charge of various production dramaturgies, such as to Bertolt Brecht's "A Man's a Man" (directed by Max Lindemann) and for the German-language premiere of "Ellen Babić" by Marius von Mayenburg (directed by Oliver Reese).
