Laura Linnenbaum

Laura Linnenbaum, born 1986, studied directing at the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt am Main. Since the 2011/12 season she has been working as a freelance director. At the same time she was assistant director and scholarship holder of the regieSTUDIO at Schauspiel Frankfurt, where various productions were created in collaboration with Gerhild Steinbuch, among others. Since then she has realized further productions and project developments at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, the Theater Bonn, the Theater Osnabrück, the Theater Münster, DT Göttingen as well as at the Staatstheaters Kassel, Darmstadt and Saarbrücken. In 2016 she was curator and artistic director of the Theatertreffen "Undiscovered Neighbors" in Chemnitz, where she realized "Beate Uwe Uwe Selfie Klick" (Heidelberger Stückemarkt, Prize of the Youth Jury of the WILDWECHSEL Festival Dresden) at the Figurentheater Chemnitz. In the trade journal Theater heute she was nominated for Best Young Artist in 2015 for her production "Silent Noise - A Project about Sylvia Plath" and for the world premiere of "Homohalal" in 2017 as Director of the Year. "Homohalal" by Ibrahim Amir was also invited to the Heidelberg Stückemarkt 2018 and the Mühlheimer Theatertage 2018. In the 2018/19 season, Laura Linnenbaum will direct in Saarbrücken, Düsseldorf and Kassel in addition to her work at the Berliner Ensemble.
