Tracy Letts‘ family drama received the Pulitzer Prize and was turned into a film with an A-list cast of actors in 2013. It is the antithesis of both the American Dream and the concept of the family as its last stronghold. With great insight into human nature and acerbic humour, Letts sketches the demise of a family clan. The result is the mirror image of a society that keeps itself under constant sedation to avoid having to face its own reality.
