Alexander Simon

Alexander Simon, born 1968, is a director and actor. He completed his acting studies at the Westfälische Schauspielschule in Bochum. This was followed by a first engagement at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. Further engagements took him to the Burgtheater Vienna, Schauspielhaus Zurich, Schauspiel Frankfurt, as well as to the Schauspielhaus and the Thalia Theater in Hamburg. He has worked with directors such as Armin Petras, Luk Perceval and Andreas Kriegenburg. Simon was awarded the Actor's Prize of the German-speaking Acting School Meeting as well as the Rolf Mares Prize for his role of Brick in "The Cat on the Tin Roof". In addition to his work in the theater, he also took part in numerous film and television productions. Since 2010/11 Alexander Simon is also working as a director. His first own directorial work was at the Thalia Theater and Garage X in Vienna. In addition, Alexander Simon is Professor of Dramatic Arts at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin.
