Christina Tscharyiski

studied theater, film and media studies as well as sociology at the University of Vienna and worked as an assistant of direction for numerous theater and opera productions, including Dimiter Gotscheff and Frank Castorf. Since the 2013/14 season, Tscharyiski has been working as a director and has since staged various texts by contemporary authors. Her production of "Ja, eh! Beisl, Bier und Bachmannpreis" by Stefanie Sargnagel, was nominated for the Nestroy Prize in 2018, invited to the Heidelberg Stückemarkt and to the Radikal Jung directing festival in Munich, where it won the audience award. The production was also seen at the Asphalt Festival in Düsseldorf in 2018. In 2019, she was featured with "Revolt. She said. Revolt Again." by Alice Birch and Marlene Streeruwitz, she was again invited to the Radikal Jung festival and the production was selected for the Nachtkritik-Theatertreffen. She regularly directs at the Berliner Ensemble, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Volkstheater München and Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, among others.
