Girls & Boys

"Girls & Boys" is the story of a love, a marriage and, not least, a family. What begins as a great love ends in tragedy. The wife’s professional success, her resulting independence and her husband’s insecurity break the family apart. In their arguments, the couple lose themselves in traditional interpretations and prejudices about gender-relations, failing to notice the other’s distress. The relationship fails – the family breaks up. Dennis Kelly’s text is the superb portrait of a woman of today as a reflection of the times; it analyses a social transformation and its consequences for the individual. A furious monologue, staged by British director Lily Sykes, whose work often focuses on great female characters, and featuring Stephanie Eidt.
