Two boys got into a fight and one of them knocked out the other one’s tooth. And now the parents meet to have a calm and reasonable conversation about the incident and its consequences for the two boys. But it’s not quite that easy to find out who the culprit is, or who started the fight. And what if Alain and Annette’s marital problems are the trigger for their son’s rough behaviour? Tension between the two couples mounts. Gradually, more and more details from their allegedly harmonious family lives emerge. Michel, for instance, secretly abandoned his daughter’s hamster, and lawyer Alain is constantly on the phone because one of his clients is a pharmaceutical company that sells a harmful drug. Jibes turn to arguments and finally end in brawls. And so, to put it mildly, this afternoon among supposedly civilised people takes an unpleasant course.
